American Idol's David Archuleta will no longer have his father breathing down his neck. Father Jeff Archuleta has been a dominating and out of control force in Archuleta's performances throughout the season, and American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe finally took a stand.

"He has been asked not to participate in the choice of music with David or be in the room when David is working out his routines that he wants to sing. He's fine to be in the studio -- nothing wrong with that. We just want David to be able to be free like everybody else to get on and do what they want to do," says Lythgoe.

A new breed of prom queen

Washington Park High School in Racine, Wisconsin could have a homosexual male student elected as their prom queen.

School officials are protesting, stating they will not allow this nomination to remain on the ballot for voting.

"If a guy can win Miss Legs and a girl can win Miss Physique, how is that different than me being nominated for prom queen?" says Uriel Gomez, the nominated male.

Prom is May 17 for the high school, and Gomez will be listed on the ballot for prom king.

Dr. Phil was going to host a show on the case about a central Florida teenage girl being beaten by eight of her peers on video. This show will not be taking place now because of the bail posted by some of the show's employees.

"We have helped guests and potential guests in the past when they need financial assistance to come on the show," spokesperson Terri Corigliano wrote. "In this case, certain staff members went beyond our guidelines" (re the bail being paid).

"These staff members have been spoken to and our policies reiterated. In addition, we have decided not to go forward with the story as our guidelines have been compromised."

I'd like to know which employee first decided the bail decision was a good choice.

Being sued by a former body-guard was obviously cause to celebrate for Miss Lindsay Lohan this past weekend. She snagged buddy Samantha Ronson to join her for a night at the clubs. Sounds like the rehab stints were worth every penny!

Elvis Presley's Grilled Peanut Butter
and Banana Sandwich

• 2 slices of white bread
• 2 tablespoons of smooth peanut butter
• 1 small ripe banana mashed
• 2 tablespoons butter

Spread the peanut butter on one slice of bread and the mashed banana on the other. Press the slices gently together. Melt the butter (or to be truly Elvis-like, melt bacon fat!), over low heat in a small frying pan. Place the sandwich in the pan and fry until golden brown on both sides. Eat it with a glass of buttermilk.

Please note: Elvis tended to eat 12-15 sandwiches a sitting! So belly up!

Swayze's Surviving

Patrick Swayze hits headlines again after announcing being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last month.

"Patrick Swayze continues to respond well to his treatment for pancreatic cancer. Because of his excellent response, he will continue the same therapy at Stanford," said his physician, Dr. George Fisher.

Swayze will continue his chemotherapy treatment as he continues on a newfound optimistic road at age 55.

Hewitt Still Can't Escape the "Overweight Police"

Jennifer Love Hewitt is taking the headlines again, only this time they are saying she's pregnant, not just overweight because of an unhealthy diet.

To address the issue of the infamous bathing suit pictures, she wasn't even overweight to begin with. A bad swimsuit cut, shadowing, and poor posture at the snap of the camera is the culprit for her "fat."

Here is the same photo after I edited it a little. By a little, I mean I changed the style of her swimsuit top without changing her physical size at all.

If she didn't have her arms flexed, didn't have the water reflecting off her thighs, didn't have shadows adding depth to her sides, and wore a more flattering top, much like the one I created, this rumor wouldn't have substance.

As for the baby rumor photo, I didn't know that by wearing a flowing shirt, which the wind probably caught at the time of the photo, automatically meant a person was pregnant.

Hewitt fully denies the pregnancy rumors.

That's Amore!

Sunday Nights, besides becoming nights for students to cram before classes resume, have become nights for an MTV reality show "That's Amore!"

Tila Tequila, sex kitten of the MySpace world, had a reality show during all entitled "A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila" in which men and women both fought for the key to Tila's heart.

Having made it far into the competition, but then left in the cold, Domenico Nesci, took the high road and created his own MTV dating show in which 15 girls are squaring off for the Italian Stallion.

Although entertaining in the moment, one must ask themselves what happened to dates earned by pure charm and attraction, not a win in a spaghetti eating challenge.

Danny Noriega, how we miss thee

As American Idol continues tonight in a matter of minutes, I cannot help but think about the fact I will no longer see performing, my beloved Danny Noriega.

Having been sent home last week, even with my five extra votes, Noriega still remains alive in the hearts of those he touched with his vocals, performance, and sass.

He absolutely ROCKED his vocal performance!



(No video for Hollywood Week) He made it through auditions for a second time around into Hollywood week. His first time, last season, upon reaching Hollywood week, was eliminated the first round. This season, he made his way through the week with the praise of the judges as he became apart of the Top 24.

2/19/08- "Jailhouse Rock"

Top 24: Danny's attitude after his performance was what helped him stand out from they rest of the gang. For me, it was love at first "oh snap."



2/27/08- "Until You Come Back to Me"

Top 20: Making it through the first round of American votes, Danny went for a mellow sound. He continued to contest Simon with his spunk and flair, and continued to make fans, like me, fall in love with him more.



3/4/08- "Tainted Love"

Top 16: Winning over audiences again, Danny sang this '80s classic. AGAIN, Danny and Simon had their little verbal banter. Yet, at the end, Simon always ends up smiling about it.



That night was the last night for Danny Noriega. On 3/6/08, he was the last of the four eliminated to be told his time on Idol had expired. I teared up, especially when his close Idol friend Ramielle Malubay began weeping as she sat with the final 12.

Losing to, who many believe the less talented Chikeze, was heart-breaking for Danny... America's fans... and the judges, including Simon, oh so discretely, who looked at him and smiled as he sang on stage one last time.

Note: 3/12/08- Danny made an appearance today on the Ellen Degeneres show! He sang "Until You Come Back to Me," and did it amazingly. His interview with Ellen was great, showing how true to himself and his personality he really is. The world loves you the way you are, and those who don't (Simon) are too close-minded to deserve your attention.

Congratulations on all you have accomplished, and hopefully this is not the last time we see you Danny!

With a sister in the spotlight, it was only time for this young female to begin a career in Hollywood as well. Starring in Nickelodeon's Zoey 101 flourished this young lady from an adolescent into a young adult.

Things were looking up for this bright young star, despite her sister's struggles. Then, low and behold, Jamie Lynn announces her pregnancy, mind you she is only 16 years-old. I suppose she just wanted to follow her sister's lead by going against the anorexia trend and "expand her horizons" (or waistline).

These billionaire twins started off as toddlers on Full House, creating a legacy from there on out. Books, movies, TV shows, CDs, fan clubs, clothing, accessories, scents, stationary; what don't these girls endorse? Yet, even with a budding career, the temptations of the spotlight brought about drugs, alcohol, anorexia, and on and on and on. The once absolutely adorable girls have become lifeless corpses, walking in a sea of fame that is dying along with their image.

These are not the only stars to lose their innocence to fame, however it is a beginning to realization. Why are so many stars falling into this trap? Time and time again they see the reprocutions, but never save themselves from the same fate. Perhaps someday we will find a star who doesn't try to grow up too fast, doesn't try to become another publicity stunt, and learns to keep business separate from their personal life as much as possible. A Utopian idea, perhaps, but it's a start.

Starbucks Is M.I.A.!

As I speak, Starbucks is shut down.

From 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. tonight, coffee lovers will need to get their fix elsewhere as NATIONWIDE, all 7100 stores are shut down to allow baristas to fine-tune their coffee making techniques. This includes 135,000 employees. CEO Howard Schultz says it's a re-education,

"to pull the perfect shot, steam milk to order and customize their favorite beverage."

Schultz also says it's part of his refocusing on the coffee-customer experience.

If this is a PR ploy, I will become among the countless victims tomorrow, as I seek out my perfected White Mocha Frappuccino!

Congrats Jamie Lynn?

As I was paging through my assortment of links of down-time reading material....

You know, People, MSN, Milwaukee Journal Sentinnel

...I came across a headline on both People and MSN which floored me, and not because it was a big *gasp* moment.

Jamie Lynn Spears passed her GED exam a month ago and is currently studying to pass her ACT.

Am I supposed to be ecstatic for her?
I mean, I suppose the fact that she did exceptional on reading comprehension makes it all the more celebratory. But honestly, this is headlining?

If only I received my own articles when I graduated from high school and passed my ACT with writing.

One must ask themselves where they went wrong in life that no one wrote at least a blurb about their academic achievements!

The only thing newsworthy about this is the fact that she is Britney Spears' baby sister... which I suppose adds an element of unusualness that she is somehow trying to keep her life in order... which then makes it humorous

I just hope she has enough time between the ACT and OB-GYN to get some R&R!
